Public-domain original OCR consulted: printed pp. 96, 251, 332 and 352. Observations from the 1800 journey, made under East India Company patronage after the conquest. Buchanan observed places and recorded accounts of earlier events; he did not witness these attacks. His descriptions contain openly hostile judgments of Tipu and Hindu worship, which are not adopted as established motives. His p. 251 also says a reported general demolition order was not enforced.
